We are Lisa M, Lisa T, and Chelsea- digital nomads, location independents, permanent travelers...all the phrases that now apply to the lifestyle of being on the road without a home...that's us. And we do it with a dog named Chelsea. We are committed minimalists based in Britain, and travel the globe, mostly the UK & Europe. We got the travel bug a few years ago and simultaneously recognized that minimalism is not letting go of things, it's making room for experiences. It took about a year to complete the process of being able to budget for and work toward being on the road, getting rid of “stuff,” of which there was plenty, and preparing our minds, hearts, and intellects for the changes that would occur with this lifestyle. What we hadn't fully prepared for, and no one can, is the changes within us that happened so significantly and so swiftly; a happier, more contented feeling of being truly free in all of the word's meanings. We feel like we're finally just catching up to what Chelsea already knew: experiences are much more valuable than things. Come join us on our journey and maybe you will find your journey begin as well.
Lisa T and I became best friends from the moment we met. She was born in small town Oklahoma but has lived her adult life all over the US, most recently and longest in her beloved Chicago. We share many interests, love traveling together, and so moving to the UK from USA was the next natural phase in her life. Lisa is an infectiously happy, adventurous and fun-loving person – never meets a stranger and is a passionate animal advocate – large and small! She's never uttered the words, "I can't," never seeing barriers, only opportunities. If there's a way, Lisa will find it. If there's not a way, Lisa will find one. Traveling and sharing life with Lisa and Chelsea is a pleasure.- by Lisa M
I met Lisa M in late 2012 at the London wedding of a mutual friend. We were best friends from our first meeting, and nothing about that has changed. She was born in Wales, spent her youth in Wiltshire & Germany, and most of her adulthood was lived in central London. Lisa M is probably the kindest person I have ever met, and naturally so. She is mild mannered, easy going, and “safer” than I am, the yin to my yang. The decision to travel together was easy; we had traveled together often in the years prior, and it's nice to travel with someone you really know and love. Lisa M is neither a leader nor a follower; she simply has her own drumbeat and doesn't mind following it. She has taken all that life has thrown at her, broken free from them all, and is now flying free. I'm just lucky enough to share the same airspace with her. It is a pleasure to watch and share.- by Lisa T
Chelsea's first year of life is a bit of a mystery. She was found wandering in the woods in Hazard County, KY with a rope around her neck, large bites on her ears and neck, and lots of matted hair, likely a bait dog of some sort. Shortly after being picked up, she was shipped to Chicago, where Lisa T found her. The two have been inseparable since. Chelsea “worked” at the local Episcopal Church for two years as resident charmer before moving to England. She adjusted easily and has a natural love of travel, train travel in particular. She spends her time exploring, meeting new dogs and people, and generally making everyone she meets smile. It's a tall order but she's up for the challenge, especially if there's a cookie and a cuddle involved.
