Date & Walnut Cake
This is an all time favourite. Easy to make and delicious, especially with my usual accompaniment with cake = a cup of tea!
4 oz Castor Sugar
2 tbsp Clear Honey
4 oz Sliced Dates (stoned)
2 oz Chopped Walnuts
4 tbsp Milk
Cooking Time: 1 hour at 150c approx
Mix all dry ingredients, rub in butter, add rest of ingredients.
Pour into greased oblong or 7” square tin. Bake in centre of oven until required time and is firm to the touch.
(To prevent the top getting over cooked cover with some foil after about 45 mins.).
Allow to cool and enjoy!
